Possible amniotic fluid?

Ok so I'm 39+6 days, this if my first pregnancy. I am not having contractions that I can tell at least. I woke up earlier in the day and was laying on the sofa when I felt a sudden trickle and my underwear were pretty wet. I'm pretty sure it wasn't urine. I did call the hospital and let them know and the nurse said just wait and see if it happens again in case it was just urine. Well the last few hours I have noticed a trickle here and there and by trickle I mean it was enough to wet the panty liner, but still no contractions. I almost feel stupid as if I'm peeing my pants and don't know it? When I check in the bathroom I can tell where it's coming from and I'm almost certain it's not urine. Am I crazy? Anyone else experience this and it be slow leaking amniotic fluid? I feel embarrassed almost to even call the hospital again..

Why be embarrassed? You're full term anyway! I'd go to L&D since they can test the liquid and tell you if it's amniotic fluid or not. I don't think you'd necessarily have contractions if your waters are just leaking.

I would just go and get checked just to be sure, because if it is your waters leaking then your baby will be at high risk of infection if not delivered within 48 hours xx

My dr told me if I think I'm leaking amniotic fluid to put on a regular pad and if it soaks through within an hour to head to the hospital :)

I should add that it has no odor and is colorless.
