Can stop smoking cold turkey harm?

Question

If I stop smoking cold turkey will it harm my baby? I’m still early, I’ve slowed down a lot but I went to stop completely and made it two days and my sister commented on how your not supposed to stop cold turkey. I know I can, I just don’t know whether it’ll harm ? Please don’t be rude. Im trying to do what’s best. Thanks.

I smoked all day and would wake up and smoke it was bad. But I stopped cold turkey when I found out I was pregnant and everything went fine I felt irritated and wanted to smoke but other then that I didn't have bad withdrawals.

Personally think going cold turkey can stress you out because smoking is an addiction, and your body will crave for it witch will stress you out. Stress isn’t good for baby. 
I’m saying that when I was pregnant with my first I had mixed advice on this with a few different doctors. I would definitely look at getting gum, patches or there are lollie type of things you can suck on.

Your sister is probably thinking of alcoholism. For an alcoholic stopping cold turkey can have deadly consequences. There are other drugs/medications that can be tricky to wean off for similar reasons.
Stopping smoking is safe though. You could be irritable, have headaches, or stomach issues but other than that you should be fine.

My baby girl turned out fine. All my children turned out fine. Every pregnancy that I had I stopped smoking cold turkey and I didn't ever know that there was a problem to do so.

Any tips for stoppi g cold turkey would be amazing!! Jealous you can!! 😭 Tried a few things but nothing seems to take that urge away for me, Could stop myself for two, three, four days but still crave a smoke, even knowing the risks, totally disgusted and disappointed in myself because I swore to myself I'd be able to stop if this miracle happened 😩😩😩 💔

I think it depends on the severity of your smoking addiction and if you use it as a coping mechanism. My friend has extream depression and anxiety and is going through a tough custody battle and the doctors have warned her not to try to quit cold turkey but to cut down as her going cold turkey could add further stress into everything else going on and also because she uses it as a coping mechanism for anxiety etc. But if you just smoke generally, feel like you are able to give up cold turkey without having to much of an effect on yourself and your stress levels it won't hurt to try and quit

I went cold turkey when pregnant with my daughter it made me feel so sick every time I took a toke. She’s so healthy and I wasn’t stressed I worked a lot so it took my mind off of things and I reminded myself it was for her health and it made me so sick which made it so much easier for me x
