Haakaa?

Question

So I didn’t get one with my first but was looking at maybe doing it this time? I get it catches the milk from the other boob while baby is feeding from the other but what do you do after you’ve collected it? Does that mean I need to buy bottles too? What if baby doesn’t take to a bottle? How do you store the milk and how do you use it/heat it up? I just exclusively breastfed my first so I have no idea how that all works. Thanks I’m advance!

Oh man so many things you can do. You can get syringes and take what you catch in those and freeze it for thins like ear infection, baby acne or stuff like that. You can also store it in breast milk bag to use in a bottle if you wanted to or freeze it and make baby food with it. I used one with my twins and it was a life saver for the first couple months cause I was able to save every drop and really needed it cause I was able to supplement after nursing with breast milk.

So many uses. I used mine in the shower after breastfeeding cause my little one wasn't draining the boob effectively and I got mastitis. Haakaa really helped express. I never saved the milk from it though 🤷

I used the haakaa with my first and LOVED it! My son got bottles if I wasn’t able to come home and feed exactly when he was hungry and so I would pump at that point. Eventually it got to the point where I didn’t have to pump and I would just save the milk for milk baths or such. My babe was a BIG eater and I had a slight oversupply. I will be buying another for baby #2

I used the Haakaa all the time with my first. Was a life saver! I plan on giving the saved milk to my toddler (she’s 2)

I used it a lot right when my milk came in and wasn’t regulated yet - if I didn’t use it I’d just drip all over baby! I saved the milk as I both breastfed and pumped/bottle fed. It helped me build up a stash before going back to work. Planning to use it again with this baby
