How to wean?

My Nipples are now constantly aching, scabby and sometimes bloody from my 23 month old’s lazy latch. He was a great feeder and we had no problems up until probably 6-8 weeks ago when it just started getting painful and it’s just getting worse.

I never wanted to wean him, I thought he’d wean himself but I just can’t keep going anymore.

Any ideas how to gently wean? Or any luck with weaning cold turkey because I’d honestly rather do that for my own pain relief and mental health at this point!
