Age Gap * Should I Give This Love A Shot? What do you think ?

So my best friend is in love with me and I love him too. We have both seen each other date other people, he loves my four boys like his own and treats them amazing. We also both want the same thing such as remarriage, family interactions, travel and other things couples do. He has always had my back. I have his. We have been best friends for over 3 years now.

So here is the dilemma and what I worry about. He is 16 years older than I am. I am 35. His oldest is 20 in college and two younger teens 15 and 18. My kids are 12 and under. Is it strange because if our age difference ? He is acts like a big kid and sometimes has more energy than me. I love his youthful spirit but mature look. I’m concerned people will think grotesque of us or judge harshly. I also don’t wan to seem like a sugar baby, we are faaaaarrr from even thinking like that. But I look like a 20 year old and he look like he looks maybe 45ish?? What will happen when I’m his age ? Curious if Energy levels will change.

Anyone have an older spouse or have advice about dating a man much older ? To be honest I believe this man wants to marry me we are very close and it’s almost like I know his next moves. But like many other things I just have my concerns. Here are some pictures of me and him and my boys, what do you think? Please no bashing just looking for input as to if it’s strange with our age despite our friendship dynamic. He asked me a week ago to give him a chance to be my forever plus 1. I told him I need to think on it as it was an unexpected ask.
