24 and living at home

Hey guys so me and my boyfriend have been together for three years . I currently live at home with my dad and my boyfriend just got a new apartment. How do I talk to my dad about staying at this house a few nights a week. My dad has the tendency to try to control me and treats me like a child at times . I really want to talk to him about this because I am an adult and he should treat me as such . I just want to know has any one else dealt with this at this age or has any tips on how I should go about this? . I ultimately would like to move with my boyfriend but am waiting until I’m ready.
