Low placenta?.

Hi ladies I was told today I have a really low placenta and if it doesn't move up I will have to have a c-section and a historectomy. Any ladies in or have been in this situation?what was the outcome. I pray it moves up . But on a good note I found I am having a happy healthy little man 💙💙💙💙

You would only need a hysterectomy in rare cases where you were haemorrhaging and it would be needed to save your life (could happen if you were to give birth naturally with low lying placenta), which is why you would have a c section. A hysterectomy is definitely not a common thing to have with a low lying placenta so I would definitely ask for clarification from your doctor.

My first baby had a low lying placenta at 20 weeks, however it moved by 36 weeks.  This is very common and they often move before term.

I found out as well that I have a low placenta. I’m 21 weeks today. This is my second kid. Never had this before. They said they are just going to watch it and do extra ultrasounds. They did not say anything about a hysterectomy to me though. 
Did my own research and it did state a possible c-section but I didn’t see anything in the research about a hysterectomy. 😕
90% chance it will move away from the cervix. I hope it does for the both of us.

I think it depends on what they saw on your scan. I would ask for more information regarding why you would need a hysterectomy. A low placenta isn't necessarily a reason for one, but if they see placenta accreta on the scan that definitely is. Definitely ask your doctor what all is going on.

I have a low lying placenta. They mentioned the possibility of a csection though they almost didn't want to mention it because of how likely it is that the placenta will move up as the uterus expands. 
But they did not say a thing about a Hysterectomy, I would definitely ask why that would even be considered? That makes no sense to me 😳

Typically hysterectomies and low placentas/c sections do not go together like that. I was definitely ask why they are wanting to do a hysterectomy. Read up on it and what all it effects before you agree with what they want to do! Definitely get a second opinion girl!! Praying for you and baby ❤️
