Abnormalities on 20 week scan

Hi

I had my 20 week scan two days ago and there were some abnormalities showing that need to be followed up. Baby had what looked like fluid in his tummy, cyst on his brain and one of his kidneys was dilated. I think because there was more than one soft marker showing it can indicate a syndrome of some sort and the whole thing has just been traumatising.

I’m having to wait days just to hear when I’ll be seen and the wait is torture. I’m almost having to try to detach from baby incase we’re told of the worst because I couldn’t handle it on the day if I hadn’t tried to prepare for that. It all seems so cruel and I’m scared of what it could mean for us.

Has anyone else here been through something similar? I feel like I’m going crazy.
