Lactating but negative pregnancy test?!

Y’all!!! What the heck?! I’m lactating and my boobs have been sore for over a week! I’m a day late on my period and sure im pregnant, but results show negative! How is this possible?! I also get headaches and bleeding gums and had light spotting. How am I not pregnant but MY BOOBS HAVE MILK?! I haven’t produced milk in 1.5 years!!! 😭 just made a checkup appt with my obgyn but can’t see him until next month!

You need to go to ur doctor ASAP. I’ve read that it can be from hormone imbalances sometimes tumors near ur pituitary gland in ur brain! You should not be lactating that early in pregnancy anyways you should get checked out!

I would ask for a blood test. It’s possible, but rare, to be pregnant and test negative for almost your whole pregnancy!
Even so, you wouldn’t start lactating until close to the second trimester at the earliest.
Most likely a hormone imbalance.

Even if you are pregnant you wouldn’t be producing milk yet. Talk to your doctor ASAP, sounds like a hormone issue.

One of my friends started lactating and she wasn’t pregnant and she had a tiny marble sized tumor in her pituitary gland.
I’d get it checked out for sure.

You don’t really start producing milk until after you have a baby. But I’d definitely talk with your doctor to see what’s going on.

I am literally going through the same thing. My son will be 2 in June. I never breastfed. My milk dried up about 2 months after he was born. Out of nowhere they started leaking a few days ago. Its a clear sticky fluid. If I take too hot of a shower they will leak. Its super weird. I had a negative blood test a few days before I started leaking and I had a normal period before I started leaking.

This happened to me. I was leaking milk (like my whole shirt) but pregnancy tests were negative. The doctor even told me I wasn't pregnant. A week or two later I got my BFP. I don't think this is common at all. And lactating through an entire pregnancy really sucks lol
