Do not get paid on time need advice

Hello! I am a server at a restaurant and am going thru a dilemma. For starters I’m a college student and work here during summer and Christmas break. I started last summer getting my tips and my check as well. Checks came once a week and were on time. But ever since last Christmas break when I started working I did not get a check until I left to go back to school. Mind you I was home and working for an entire month. I’m currently working now for the summer and have been since early May. Still no check in sight or heard about, but the owner can afford to buy his kids a $400 water slide, but cannot properly pay their employees. What should I do? I still get tips, but no check.

I worked at a place for a summer that didn’t pay hourly, only tips. But they would try and pull one over on us by writing out our credit card tips on a check every week, as if they were giving us a paycheck. I confronted one of the owners and she denied it, said we were paid hourly. I mean I feel like they thought we were all bricks. 
To make matters worse, they only claimed two legitimate servers but they upped their income to 50k a year to justify the business income. Meanwhile, my friend had to pay taxes on this fake income. She only worked weekends, she was flabbergasted they claimed she made 50k a year. 
I almost went to the better business bureau but it was a small community and I was leaving the state anyway. Today they’re closed.

So if you're not the type to just directly confront them then I suggest getting with your co-workers and asking if it's an issue for them and if they would maybe have a little side meeting and figure out how to tell the boss. I've dealt with this before and no one ended up telling the boss and it just kept happening and kept happening whenever she just got behind on stuff and even when people are busy it's still very disrespectful and unprofessional to do that to your employees so please say something before it's too late maybe have a private meeting with them if that works best for you just do what you think is right.
