Not eating enough?

My baby is 8 weeks old and he is only eating 3oz. I have seen people saying that their 6 week Olds are eating 4-5oz. Should I be worried?

Mine is 9 weeks and he eats anywhere from 2.5-4 every 3 hours. I wouldn’t worry!

My daughter only has 2-3 oz at feeds and sleeps all night so doesn’t feed at all from 8pm-7am and even then when she wakes only wants 2.5 oz but she will feed every 1-2 hours through out the day and my doctor said she is putting weight on perfectly and is now already 12 pounds at 8 weeks old

I think it’s more dependent on how much formula they are eating in a full 24 hrs. My girl takes anywhere fro 3-5 oz but only eats every 3-4 hrs.  So if your guy is eating more often then you’re prob fine. But, he might also just be used to eating smaller meals more often and is kind of just snacking. So if he’s eating enough throughout the day, you could try pushing back on feedings by small increments to see if he’ll take more.

Every baby is different. My first used to drink only 2-3 oz and she was gaining weight just fine. She started drinking 4 oz after she turned 1. This baby drinks 4-6 oz. He is a little chunkier than her.
