I was all set to start my second egg retrieval on Thursday (self funded) when I got a call saying that my name came up on the provincial wait list for the government-funded cycle at a different clinic. On one hand I’m obviously thrilled to save the money. On the other hand, they contact you a few months before you start so it won’t be now til August or September. I went from being ready to do a retrieval in early July to it being end of summer.

I know in the grand scheme of things that’s not long, but I’m 37.5 and it feels weird to wait even more. I think I made the right choice but just needed to say I’m frustrated. Ultimately, more than anything, I’m grateful to live somewhere where a funded cycle is even an option.
