Some of you might have read a post I made a few days ago regarding the Airbnb I was staying at on vacation.

For a reminder, I spent $1,650+ for a condo that ended up having a missing cabinet, a gross unsanitary shower, ants in the bathroom floor, a broken toilet, rusted tables and chairs etc.

I reached out to the host who wasn’t willing to help and just brushed me off and told me to go talk to the property manager. So I contacted the property manager and when I didn’t receive a response after 24 hours, I emailed the host again and said I didn’t receive a response and the host told me the property manager said I never contacted them. So I sent the host a screenshot of proof that I contacted them and ironically that’s when I got a response. Weird how they had my number to respond to me even though they “didn’t get a message” 🤥

The property manager told me the same thing the host did and that was that I am not eligible for a refund and that the most they could give me was $25

So I stopped contacting them and started contacting Airbnb.

Airbnb contacted the host and demanded a refund and the host declined.... after that more issues arose that had not been noticed before. Such as broken glass on the patio, semen on the blankets on the bed, the ants on the bathroom floor, and many more things.

On our check out day, we tried making the bed and that is when we noticed the semen on the blankets.

I immediately contacted Airbnb and asked them to get involved again. Whoever I spoke to told me they would reach out to the host again and that they would call me back within 24 hours. It’s been 52 hours and I have not heard any updates.

So I went into the Airbnb app and tried to speak with someone that basically told me even though Airbnb requested compensation for me, it doesn’t count as a “formal” request and that only I was capable of doing that. So they send me a link to use to do that.

Then I found out the host wrote a review on my profile with straight LIES!! Not only did they lie and say I used profanity when speaking to them, but they also said I refused their “easy” solution to have the issues resolved which was so far from the truth!!!!! And they were just spitting out lies as if I don’t have the emails and screenshots to prove it!!!!

In their review about me, they said that a partial refund was would not have been out of question had I asked for one.... except I DID and they told me the most they could give me was the $25!!!!!!

Then they declined my formal request for a partial refund!!

HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?!?!!?!??

I called Airbnb and was on hold for 40 min and they hung up on me before anyone even talked to me!!... so I am on hold for a second time and so far have been on hold for 16 min.

I am so frustrated I am crying 😭

I don’t need all of the money back!!! But at least 1/4-1/2 of it would be appropriate!!!!
