Birth Control HELP!!!

Hi! I have a question for anyone who has taken birth control.

I started birth control the week of the 24th in May as a way to stop my period because I was going on a beach trip that week.

It worked (thankfully)! I start my period on June 8th. My period is only for about 5-6 days. This month however, it is lasting longer. I am on the 8th day and I am still on my period.

Flows been the same, no heavy days and it hasn’t gotten lighter much.

Is it common for periods to last longer after BC? Will it stay this long for the next month?
