Career advice!

I’ve been at this current job as an academic advisor for almost 9 months now but I need more money for sure. I get paid 45000 which isn’t much and I’m looking to increase my salary to at least 60k even if I have to take a new job. I just want to be financially stable. There are places to move up in in this company so I do not want to leave yet and want to be here at least a year and a half. I also have been doing a great job but have to wait until February of next year to get a raise 🤦🏻‍♀️

Should I start looking now for new jobs? Can I ask for a raise sooner than my one year anniversary? I have a lot of reasons why I deserve a raise as I took on a big project and have been doing well within my job.

Not sure what the best move is from here in higher ed and I feel kind of stuck.
