Induction of labor ???!! Cytotec?!?

Hello, 
Has anyone ever taken Cytotec to induce labor? Or has anyone ever heard of it ? If you have taken it … we’re you and your baby okay ?

I would not ever agree to cytotec, personally. It is not FDA approved for induction because it’s known to have serious risks of uterine rupture, which is deadly to both mother and baby. Perfectly healthy women and their babies have died after its use, I’m really shocked that any doctor worth their salt is still recommending it.
There are other FDA-approved induction methods that are plenty effective and statistically safer than cytotec. Induction of any method already comes with additional risks, so finding one that would not increase my risks any more than necessary is important to me.

Cytotec isn’t actually fda approved for induction and definitely comes with some risks.  I was induced with it my first pregnancy because I had preeclampsia.  Knowing what I know now, I would have declined it and just done pitocen.  If I didn’t have a medical issue, I would have declined induction altogether

Yes. I had a horrible experience. Look it up. It isn’t fda approved because the effects it can have on mom and baby. It causes extreme contractions that aren’t natural immediately and this caused my daughters oxygen to drop very very low so I had to constantly be flipped over every 20 min while on oxygen and almost have an emergency csection. I also got a infection after birth from it and was put back in the hospital. Ever risk the fda warns of, I had. It was absolutely terrible.

I had cytotec to induce me after I had already lost my daughter to deliver her. That’s the only time I have ever had it as my two live children were c section. So I know not much help in your question:/

I was with my first. I got 3 doses overall. They administered it every 4 hours. It worked great for me but like others have said it’s not FDA approved for inductions.

I used cervadil which was similar. I had been in pre labor for almost 2days with contractions every 5-6 minutes but didn’t dilate. They gave me the cervadil with a foley balloon and I went from 1-6cm in about 4 hours. worked like a charm and I never needed pitocin.
