I have some Thinx period panties and personally I don't feel fully comfortable wearing only the underwear, but I haven't had any issues with leaking.  It can be great for a backup, like I ended up getting my period on my wedding day (of course!) and I wore period panties and a menstrual cup and didn't worry about it the whole day.

My last 3 periods have been 100% plastic free using period panties and reusable pads. I have wanted to have a waste free period for ages but I can't use cups, so I'm proud I've finally done it. I recently stopped taking the pill and my first 3-4 periods were brutal - I bled through the undies every time because I was bleeding so so much. But now my period has settled down they're great. I actually prefer the reusable pads though - they're not black so it's easier to monitor how heavily I'm bleeding.

I’m wearing bladder control underwear since no pads tampons or cups can hold my period.

Whatever you do, only buy the Love Luna ones for lighter days as the padding is wuite low down, and my recommendations for the ones that don't have super low down padding would be TOM Organic x Cotton On, and Modibodi(they have ones that you can clip and unclip to take off, but not all Modibodis are vegan).
