Question

I am needing to invest in a good breastpump . My insurance doesnt cover any kind of pump.I have some money saved up but am wanting to know which is a good one that doesnt cost so much as well as doesnt have as many parts to it .im going back to work soon and am needing to start storing milk . Please help. I am not wanting to stop my breastfeeding journey as I really feel its a bonding time with my baby .

I have this one and the S2 (which has to be plugged in). So I kept the S2 upstairs then brought the portable one wherever I needed or wanted in the house:)

Absolutely call your insurance directly. I can’t go through 3rd party unless approved by insurance first. They have to provide you with a pump, it is law.

If you are in the US your insurance has to cover some kind of pump even if it is a manual pump. 
For lower cost good pumps I’ve heard good things about the Bella baby (Amazon), ameda Mya joy (or just regular Mya), and the Buddha baby. All are small and portable too.

You should try and check with WIC, I’m from Cali and I was able to get a loaner hospital grade breast pump. It beats having to pay out of pocket in my opinion. They issued me the same type of pump I was using while in the hospital. All I had to do was have a lactation consultant from the hospital write me a prescription and I had it the same day I went home.

I got the Spectra S1 on my registry but ended up renting the Medela Symphony from a local mommy shop instead. It’s the hospital grade pump and as a low producer (1-2oz per session) I couldn’t muck around testing out pumps. I like that it’s so reliable and quiet, and because I’m renting I don’t need to worry about reselling it. (And I’ll be honest: all the settings on the Spectra stressed me out while I am exhausted/sleep deprived and the Medela is one button)
It’s also nice that Target carries all the Medela parts for when you need replacements and don’t want to wait for Amazon shipments. Standard bottles screw right into the pump flanges as well.
I echo what others have said: your insurance is mandated to give you a pump but if yours is like mine the selection isn’t great, but it’s there.

I never got a pump covered by insurance in US. I didn’t pump much anyways. I just used a manual, I had spectra and medela but I hate those. I like Lasinoh. 
I’ve heard amazing things about motif Luna…. Idk if there’s a way around pumps having multiple parts, that’s how they are.
