Trying to decide if I’m hormonal or if I have a right to be upset

Husband randomly decided (without consulting me whatsoever), that he would be flying from where we are (Texas) to CA in 2 weekends (for the whole weekend: Friday-Sunday) to visit his family and brother. We have 2 girls. They will not be going. Neither will I. Just him. He made these plans without asking me. Just telling me. I stay home with our girls (3 and a 1 1/2 year old).

Am I wrong to be upset that he didn’t ask or consult me in any way and he just tells me what he’s doing? There’s no specific reason for the visit, just random spur of the moment thing he decided to do. He’ll also have to take a day off of work which we can’t afford. But he sees no problem with any of it.
