Anyone had to do a fetal echo?

I have one scheduled in a few weeks as a precaution due to family history.

Yup. Just did ours. Due to family history, including our eldest daughter being born with holes in her heart, sleep apnea and bradycardia. 
As everyone else said, it’s just a specific ultrasound for the baby’s heart. They also do them if you were on medication when you got pregnant sometimes, etc.

I just had mine! My husband and I both were born with congenital heart disorders that were corrected. Because we both had it, baby has a higher likelihood so as a precaution we had a fetal echo. Like others said, it’s like an ultrasound with special attention to the heart, but they also checked her other parts and took some fun photos for us. The cardiologist looked at it during our appointment so we didn’t have to wait to find out that she was looking normal, and nothing was detected.

Yup! Had one with my last pregnancy and have another one with this baby scheduled for Friday. I have them because I take Zofran during pregnancy.

I did ! It’s done the same way as a normal ultrasound but they just take tons of photos / videos of the heart  only and also do Doppler on the heart too in different areas of the heart - mine took roughly 45 mins!

I have one with my 3 year old and my daughter I’m currently pregnant with due to my own cardiac history. It’s just a detailed ultrasound of the baby’s heart. As long as the baby is in a good position to get the images they need it should be no more than 20-30 minutes.

I have to do one at 32 weeks. My baby has a an extra vein on her heart as of last ultrasound at 20 weeks. The echo will help us see if it’s gone or if anything else is wrong. Super nervous and praying so hard it’s gone. I have one month until I do it.
