She’s here 🥰

Our sweet Halstyn Jaymes arrived yesterday at 37 weeks! I was admitted Friday night for monitoring my blood pressure due to it being elevated. At 3am I started contracting on my own every 2-5 minutes. When my doctor rounded at 7am he decided to break my water and get my contractions to come a little more consistently since my symptoms and blood pressure were pointing towards preeclampsia.
At 11am contractions had become irregular so pitocin was started. I labored from 11am until she was born at 4:44pm walking halls and sitting in the jetted tub in my room. I was 5cm dilated at 3pm and began pushing by 4pm. My cervix had a small lip left but my doctor was able to push it back while I pushed to get her head past it.
Halstyn arrived at 4:44pm at 6lbs 7oz and 20.5 inches long! I’m proud of myself for sticking it out for a drug free delivery. I had zero tearing. It has been a much different recovery compared to my other daughters birth two years ago when I labored for 22 hours, pushed for 4.5 hours and ended up with a vacuum delivery and 4th degree laceration.
