when people cheat why do people feel it is the other person's fault?

it isn't always that their SO didn't give them what they needed. Some people cheat because their greedy, low self esteem, no sense of commitment, a follower, etc. Yes, sometimes SO failed them but not in every case

Actually, the SO is not usually blamed if the woman cheats. That generally only happens if the man cheats.

I find it usually goes like this:

Man cheats - His SO didn't give him what he needs. Or the whore (other woman) tempted him away. Or some combination of both which renders the man practically unaccountable for his actions.

Woman cheats - She's a cheating whore who wronged her man.

We tend to blame the woman/women no matter who cheats.

(As far as heterosexual relationships go anyway)

In a past relationship, (after several failed relationships of the guy cheating) i cheated on him to get back at him for cheating on me. Stupid yes. Did i feel bad. No. Was just at my limit of people cheating on me.
