Not Talking?

So are there any other December babes still not talking? or just my girl? she says mama rarely when she’s crying & she says hot, but everything else all sounds the same or she doesn’t try or say anything at all

Eh not much yet. Uh oh, ouch, hot, mama, hit (said as he tries to hit the flies and bees 🙄), uh uh, yeah (rarely), no and I think that is it. I think eat sometimes. The pediatrician said it was not an issue and he should be getting more words over the next 3 months.  His older brother barely talked until 2 and then he just never stopped haha. He had a speech eval due to some issues with sounds, and his vocabulary is advanced at 4.5.

We’re not really talking. My son has 2 words and about 3 signs. Receptive language scores are spot on and he doesn’t have any signs of autism, he’s just not interested in talking! We’ve been in Speech Therapy for a few months and I’m not convinced it’s helping much, but we’re just trucking along and doing the best we can to help him.

My daughters receptive language is great but she doesn’t have as many words as I think she should and she is having an early intervention speech evaluation tomorrow. My pediatrician said he philosophy is that if the parent has concern then they are better off being evaluated. She also will loose words when she gets a new one.

I wouldn't say mine is the most verbal compared to some other kids I've heard her age but she does try to copy certain words but if she just came out with them i probably wouldn't know what she was saying if that makes sense 😂

My daughter is 22 months old and she just recently the past two weeks started saying a lot more words. Before she said dada, shoes, and kitty and that was pretty much it. We started speech therapy a couple weeks ago, although I think it was just her time to start saying words. She's super advanced on her gross motor skills just doesn't like to talk much. Every baby is different. If you feel like she understands you and she is getting her needs met she may just not feel like talking yet.

My little one ended up being a November baby but she doesn't talk much. She says mom and no. Sometimes she says juice. She dies listen well though. I can tell her to go with sis and she will go in sisters room. I can also tell her to throw stuff away and she will.

My daughter only says 1 word but not consistently. She knows how to sign about 10 words though. Her receptive language is great and she has a high vocabulary. She even knows numbers 0-5. She points to things all the time when we ask her find something from her flashcards or wall posters. When we ask her say q word she just shakes her head no. Doctor said he wasn't too concerned at her 18 month appointment as I also had a speech delay. He said he may recommend a speech referral if she isn't saying more by September as toddlers tend to have a huge burst of vocabulary between 18 months and 2 years.
