When did your baby like solids?

I’m trying not to worry lol
My baby is 6 months old, so far he has tried avocado purée and sweet potato and neither were a hit. I know it’s not his main source of nutrition anyway, but can ya girl just have some reassurance? 😅

My first liked purees just fine, my second hated them. We did more of a baby led weaning approach with my second. He ate everything we did, just cut in appropriate shapes/sizes. He definitely preferred table food over purees and he learned how to feed himself much earlier than my first did.

How many times have you fed your little one? For my daughter, it took three tries before she started liking a food. So, if you only tried once and your little one hated it, try Atleast two more times.

Like 7.5-8 months. She did better with solid foods cut into small pieces then I incorporated purées later.

My first only liked purees we made him and hated anything else.  We went to whole food around 9 months. My second refused all purees when he was cleared for them at 4 months, the way he would eat them I thought he had a delay and was ready to ask for a feeding eval and we stopped feeding him until his 6 month appointment.  We offered him regular food and he went to town at 6 months. Been doing baby led weaning since, he is 19 months now.

My son wouldn't eat ANY solids until 10 months. After a year it got better. He's still not a big eater, but he never has been (only ever took 4oz bottles etc.).

My first was obsessed with food immediately at 6 months, loved em all, still does lol.
My second did not give a single hoot about any solid food until he was 10 months old. He played with his food but had zero interest in eating anything. Once he got started he was unstoppable though.

Depends on the kid. My first hated purees and didn't eat food until he could eat more solid food. He didn't eat a ton until 10 months old. My second wanted to steal food off our plates at 4 months old but we waited until he was 6 months old. He loved pumpkin and butternut squash.

Most of the things I’ve read said that you might need to introduce new foods ~15 times before a baby might take it. My little chunky monkey has loved everything so far.

My son didn’t really care for purées at all. He really started to like food when we started doing BLW and just feeding him what we were eating.
