Maternity leave

I’m currently 34 weeks pregnant. I told my boss I would work until I was either dilated or go into labor, but recently it’s been such a struggle for me being at work. I’m getting maybe 3 hours of sleep, it’s tough to do my daily tasks at work and my boss is a male who makes me feel like my pregnancy is an inconvenience. Has anyone asked their doc for a note to be excused from work until birth? Is that something a doc will do? I’m not looking to collect any money through disability etc. I just want a note stating it’s not healthy for me to continue working up to birth so that I can get my boss off my back and enjoy my last few weeks of pregnancy.
