Tips on how to introduce baby to thicker foods and solids?
My 9-month-old baby loves her homemade purees, however, I'm trying to introduce her to thicker foods to transition to solids. I've tried this with banana, and pears (foods that she already loves) to a thicker applesauce-consistency, but every time it makes her gag and once she gagged so much that she threw up. 😞
She enjoys thicker foods like butternut squash (her favorite) and homemade applesauce, but anything that isn't blended smooth she rejects.
I've also tried the BLW approach and let her gnaw off bites of banana and avocado with the same result, rejecting after a few bites.
Is this something that she will just grow out of eventually?
Any tips to help get her used to different consistencies?
Thanks!
