Did your csection scar lighten up?

I’m 7 weeks postpartum and right now it’s like a dark red/pink color. At my checkup the doctor said it was healing fine. Just wondering if it’ll lighten up at all. If yours did lighten, how long did it take?

I didn’t have a c-section, but I did have other scars that were that red color (and my pregnancy stretch marks were red). The scars faded to my skin color in about a year, and my stretch marks faded to skin color at about three months postpartum. 
Keep it out of the sun if it’s in an area that would get tanned! Sun exposure can make it stay darker longer. Otherwise just time will help.
