We drove 16 hours a month ago. But it's partially because there is no direct flight from here to my mom and my mom lives 2 hours from the closest airport so that travel time ends up being a 12 hour day anyway bearing no delays. We stopped and stayed in hotel overnight on the way there and the way back.

I despise the 5 hour drive to see my husband's family with our 14 month old. Personally, I wouldn't consider driving much more than that, especially if flying was an option.
