I’m just wondering why people assume having a baby shower is about the gifts???

To my understanding a baby shower is a celebration for the baby to come into the world and for others to be involved with the pregnancy?

My baby is a miracle, we tried 3 years for this little boy! we had 2 miscarriages and 2 ectopics in the space of 15 months, the heartache me and my partner went through was hard let alone all the people that were heartbroken around us, sisters, brother in laws, friends, our parents they were shattered every time I had to call them with ‘bad news’.

Now this baby is a blessing, a miracle and what we need as a couple and what my family needs. I would HATE for people to think we are having a baby shower for ‘gifts’, gifts are welcome because let’s be honest everyone will adore our little boy and why should I stop them all from spoiling him when he’s so wanted by many.
