Screw that doctor

I have a chronic pain condition, it is labeled the "suicide disease." If anyone knows how bad pain can get I can tell you. That being said I don't take medications I am big on vitamins, mental health, chiropractor, physical therapy, and have had several surgeries and procedures. There is definitely a place for medication I am just not there.

Today I visited a TMJ doctor with nothing regarding my chronic pain. Immediately accusing me of fishing for pain medications. He states I have all the symptoms of needing surgery but because of my condition he refuses to be the doctor to do it. Then says he won't also prescribe me anything and that I wasn't being truthful on my forms as people with my condition are always medicated.

This was all a consultation for the fact my jaw locks out of place and I can't open my mouth. I thought maybe I needed braces again. Definitely don't want pain medication and definitely don't want a doctor like him ever to touch me with a scalpel.

Chronic pain people are not pill poppers. They are not pushing their agendas. They are not scamming and fishing for more medications. I am a stay at home mom and I enjoy soaking in a tub with salt if I get the chance. I go to the chiropractor three times a week. I literally fight for my ability to walk without assistance so I can carry my babies.

I left that appointment shocked. Got into my car and started crying. I won't be back. I'll go see an orthodontist and see what can be done with my jaw. Whatever that doctor thought of chronic pain patients I hope I changed his mind. I doubt it. Honestly shouldn't be my job.

Anyone else sick of bad doctors? It makes it so hard for me to trust them or to keep routine visits I'd rather wait till things become unbearable as I don't like to deal with them.
