Repeated C Section or VBAC ? Which is better ?

Hello ! Please help me choose the right option as I don’t want to have regrets afterwards ! I had an elective c section with my daughter who is now two years old and I’m pregnant with my second and currently almost 21 weeks , my doctor gave me the option to choose between another c section or a vaginal birth but after hearing there are rare complications like uterine rupture during vbac and other rare complications which could harm the baby or me I’m having second thoughts I don’t know if I’m in the wrong path as I really wanna go normal as it’s much easier and faster recovery the c section was a tough journey for me as I don’t have support from family this time I want to make the right decision , any moms who faced this situation and succeeded / any advice on this ? If your dr is even giving it as an option, then you should be ok if you decide to go that route. December babe will be my 4th and final csection. All were different experiences and recoveries. I was given the option of a VBAC with my 3rd since it had been 10 years since my last csection. I chose to go with what I knew and expect. At that point honestly labor and delivery terrified me, and still does now that I’ve been thru the csections. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Just knowing what to expect helps me. However, knowing that the circumstances would be different not having a large support system following such a procedure, I might would weigh it heavier. Take into consideration the reason for your first elective section, and have a thorough convo with your dr. Again, if they give it as an option, there is a great chance you will do fine this go around 👍🏼 Good luck!

My doctor advised against VBAC for me, I will be 17 months post-C section when I give birth-- uterine rupture risk being the #1 reason. She would prefer me 18-24 months out before attempting a VBAC. 
I think it's important to know VBAC being advised by your doctor should make you feel secure in the safety of it. If any issues were to arise, you would still get a C section. I the end, you need to go with what you are most comfortable with- and if your concerns of complications cause you genuine distress, the C section might be better.

A successful VBAC is safer than a repeat c section. I’ve had two VBACs and planning for a third. I much preferred delivering vaginally over a cesarean. Both VBACs were unmedicated and the last was an amazing home birth.

Hi I am in the same boat. I had an emergency c section with my son 4 years ago. I went into labor and labored for about 5 hours no epidural and after the epidural I had complications and my son was in distress so they did the c section 
Doctor said I am a good candidate for a VBAC. 
I would prefer to stick with what I know and I am getting my tubes tied during the procedure instead of coming back for another procedure 
I think best advice talk to your doctor and do what is best for you and your baby.

I can’t offer any advice other than to say I’m in the same boat. I had an emergency c-section with my first and now my doctor is asking if I want a vaginal delivery or another section. Honestly, I’d like to push this baby out as I’ve read that it’s much better for mom and baby to do a vaginal delivery, but I’m not going to make any plans. I never got to labor with my first and I’d like to with this one. I think I’m going to make that decision, if there is a decision to make, when it’s time. Whatever will be best and safest for baby and me is what I’ll end up doing. I’m trying not to over think it or get my hopes up. There is still a lot of time between now and delivery (hopefully).

I had a c section (not planned) with my first and then an AMAZING VBAC with my second, 16 months later. Yes, there are SMALL risks associated with VBACs, but like someone else commented: if your doctor is giving you the choice, then you’re a low risk patient. 
The VBAC was honestly so incredible - to be able to walk just an hour after birth was fantastic. I had SO much less pain afterwords and felt like a normal human being way quicker (which was a huge blessing since I was taking care of a baby AND toddler). My vagina felt completely normal after the recovery period. 
I would highly, highly recommend attempting a VBAC! The recovery is so worth it 🙌🏼
