Elective Induction
Hey Ladies,
I’m wondering if some of y’all can give me some feedback on my current situation.
So I am a soon to be single first time mom to a boy and I am due Sept 6. One thing to note is that I live with my 95 y.o. Grandma as her temporary caregiver until after my sons arrival (have lived here for a year + by now and will be moving to Ohio after his arrival). My mother lives in Ohio, father is in Wisconsin and sisters live states away with kids of their own. I legitimately have NO family or friends close by for support if I am to go into labor spontaneously (Sperm donor not in the picture).
My question is if I ask for an elective induction at the 39 week mark if I haven’t already gone into labor naturally do you think my midwife would take it into consideration given my circumstances? If I go into labor naturally then my mom and step dad will hop on a plane ASAP but I would more than likely have my son before they make it here. And if that’s how it happens then it is what it is, I’ll be alone and that’s okay. But if I don’t labor spontaneously and have a set date it makes it much easier to plan on my support system being here which is obviously what I and I’m sure my whole birthing team would prefer.
I know this is a question I’ll have to ask at my next appt but I just wanted to see y’all’s opinions and if anyone’s been in a similar situation!
TIA 😊
