Slavery left legacy of corporal punishment on black communities
Okay, we all know the great tiktoc debates 🤣
Anyways, I came across an interesting one.
So, the debate is.. Black Americans are more often to use "spanking" as a form of discipline due to slavery and the treatment they received and its been passed down through generational trauma creating a cycle of abuse.
Which now effect the community at an all time high.
Hitting your kids can lead to social services getting in your home, which can lead to foster homes. Also, can cause children to become violent themselves putting them at risk for juvenile/jail. This furthermore effecting black communities as a hole.
Do you believe that the trauma from slavery can/does have this impact?
**this isn't a "I was spanked and I'm white" or a spanking debate on rather you do or don't its about slavery and the effects that still last today**
