App and period not sync

Hi I can’t seem to accurately sync my cycle with the app. The app always gives me an earlier period start date than it actually is and it’s quite frustrating as I’ve been trying to get pregnant and I’m feeling like my ovulation day in this case is incorrect as well.. can anyone advise how to fix this?
