Do I need padsicles for postpartum recovery?

I’m trying to learn a lot to have an “easy” recovery period and YouTube is full of people making padsicles. Which are pads soaked in witch hazel, aloe Vera gel and lavender. They are frozen afterwards. I get why a frozen pad will feel good but what about the aloe gel and witchhazel, are they necessary? Should I skip this process ? Thanks in advance
