Are you taking extra precautions bc of Covid?

Question

I’m supposed to go to a few weddings & other events where there will be between 20-150 people, and I’m just more nervous about socializing with the new Delta variant. I read that if you get a fever while pregnant it could cause a miscarriage so I really don’t want to get Covid again. I had it last year and had a fever for about a week. Is it overkill to not go to these events bc of Covid? I can’t tell if I’m being dramatic.

Truthfully the health of you and your baby are the most important thing, I don’t think it’s dramatic, that’s a lot of people to be around.

We would never attend things like that during this time. My husband is an ICU and has seen every first hand and we will happily miss out on a few things for a few years rather than risk our family.

Not dramatic at all. You get to decide what is best for you and your baby. I’m 35 weeks and with how crazy things are; my husband and I have decided to stop interacting with family and friends; only going to the store once a week when we need and we’re wearing masks in public again. I don’t want to take chances getting COVID this close to delivery. If I had an even that large, I would not be going.

Personally I wouldn’t. Recently i had to go to my husbands work event and when there were WAY more people than we expected, we left. Turns out 2 people who were at the gathering have already tested positive for Covid so Im glad we left.

I am being wayyyy more precautionary because I’m at the end.  If I go into labor now and I test positive for covid, I can’t have a partner there, and if baby needs the nicu, I won’t be able to see them either.  So I’m isolating until baby is here.

You’re not being dramatic, I wouldn’t go either. I mainly stay home and only go around select people. You can’t ever be too safe, those are your boundaries, and that is a lot of people.
