Membrane sweep? Just opinions I know it’s ultimately my choice

I got 3 membrane sweeps my last pregnancy 2 hurt and the middle one didn’t (different doctor). 3rd one sent me into labor thankfully! I am a smaller person and little man is weighing more than both my other boys did already and that worries me. I’m 37 weeks Friday and I have the option to get a sweep, I’m debating because it was so painful last time but I also don’t want him to get to big! Also I have scoliosis and have had really bad back pain. Opinions? How did your experiences go?

I will be getting my first sweep at 37 weeks and 3 days and again at 38 weeks exactly. I am beyond ready to get this baby out. I am due the 4th and my midwife goes out of town on the 2nd so we are encouraging a early arrival.

It increases risk of infection, premature breaking of waters and it’ll likely only work if you’re on the verge of going into labour. After 40 weeks is one thing but 3 weeks early I’d strongly recommend against

I'm hoping to have one at 37 weeks then wait a week and start more frequently from 38 weeks. I know it's gonna be painful but it's a means to an end 
It's ultimately your choice and you can change your mind at any point.

I wouldn’t that early, it won’t work unless you’re really ready anyway. I did 1 with my 1st when I was overdue and had him the next day.
Had 2 with my 2nd, the 1st didn’t do anything even though I was almost 40 weeks and 2cm dilated. The 2nd one I was already 5cm dilated and I had my son later that night.

My midwives won’t do it until 39w but I’ll definitely opt for it if things don’t seem to be moving along
