Must Haves For Vaginal Birth?

Hey there! 
I had a c-sec with my first in 2019, I'm going to try to have this one vaginally! ❤️ Are there any MUST HAVE recovery items for the vaginal birth process? 🙂 I'm excited to experience it, but also nervous since it feels like a whole new experience with having a baby. 😂❤️

Agreed with Maura! The mesh undies and giant pads the hospital gives you are great for the first few days afterwards, but you definitely want either adult diapers or maternity/ incontinence pads (much longer and much more absorbent than your standard menstrual pads). I bought a set of postpartum undies off of Amazon. They’re snug enough where I don’t have to worry about pad placement because of how long the pads are. Definitely Tucks pads in the refrigerator. I also used perineal ice packs for the first week or so (I have stitches, so it reeeaaally helped with the swelling). You can get reusable ones online. Look for the ones with the little beads inside, they form to your bits unlike a solid frozen block. I’d also get a can of Dermoplast (blue top) as if you’re stitched, it helps so much with burning and itching down there. I’d also get a different peri bottle, one with a curved head. The one the hospital gave me is just a straight water bottle pretty much, and it makes it difficult to clean down there without contorting yourself sometimes. Not fun when you’re already sore and trying not to rip anything else. Best of luck to you and your family!! ☺️

Until the bleeding slowed down a bit I lived in adult diapers honestly.  Now that they make “cute” ones it feels less like wearing an actual diaper and you don’t have to worry about pad placement or leaking which is a godsend.  Refrigerated Tucks pads were nice in the beginning as well.  They have witch hazel on them and it helped with discomfort if you lined your pad with them.  Stool softeners.  Take the stool softeners! lol I swear the first poop after vaginal birth is scarier than having the darn baby, especially if you’re stitched.

Everything everyone has recommended is a whole must tbh but also a peri bottle is a huge must. The bottles they give you to clean down there was very annoying to me but when I got a peri bottle it worked so much better 💕
