Forward facing before two (HYPOTHETICAL SITUATION) 👀

So what would you do in a situation that your child has maxed out the rear facing limits on a car seat before two years old? Our car seat maxes at 40 lbs for rear facing. It was a 400$ seat so I would LIKE to not have to buy another one but if he hits that limit before two I suppose I’ll have to. But, like say you weren’t in a financial position to do that, and your child maxed out the limits, would you turn them, personally? I don’t know if that’s something I feel comfortable with so spending another 400-500$ for my child’s safety doesn’t really seem like an issue to me. Asking because my 8 month old is a giant, 25 lbs the last time I weighed him, so I’m curious.
