What happens if you bend over after c section?

I’m 9 days postpartum and I had a c section. I’ve been bending over to clean and pick things up. Is this bad? What happens if I’ve been doing this? I honestly don’t have much help and I’m scared I won’t recover wel because of everything I’ve been doing

Well depends on the person. I had a csection at 9am Friday.. was home by 3pm sat and my husband went to work on Monday. So I was taking care of 3 kids, one dog and the house. I had to bend over. I had no other choice 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m completely fine tho. But I did read a story of a woman’s insides coming out in the shower after hers but idk if that’s actually a true story. And I started to take it a little easier after I read that 😮‍💨

I would be careful bending over. I was told not to because of all the pressure being put on your incision. I was at home by myself with 1 week after both of my c-sections. If I needed to bend over I would try to stoop more than bending over.

So I had a c section at 130am on a Thursday morning & by 10am  that same day I was walking to the nicu to see my daughter I was also bending down and picking stuff up in my hospital room I took my first shower by myself ; going home after being there for a week my boyfriend went back to work and I then had to take care of my daughter, the house (laundry dishes cleaning) plus my two dogs .. the more you walk the better it helps with healing process… my suggestion is when you have to bend .. squat down slowly with something next to you and strong enough to help you bring yourself back up .. do this slowly & do everything else slowly, the first few weeks take awhile so just be extremely patient with yourself and body

I was bending over no problem. My onlt restriction was lifting things. Nothing heavier than my baby. I overdid it about 2 weeks postpartum and it caused pain and increased my bleeding. I honestly could have sworn I ripped an internal stitch but didn't, and my midwife ensured me they are much stronger than I thought.

At the very least, this can slow your healing. Under extreme circumstances it could open your incision. I know it’s not practical to simply “not bend” because LOL WHO CAN ACTUALLY JUST SIT AFTER THEY HAVE A BABY but try to squat rather than bend at the waist whenever possible. This will help.

I had no choice but to be more active than the doctor recommended but I tried to do so safely. If I needed to bend over I’d sort of squat down to avoid too much pressure on my incision. I’m fine.

I was told to use a small pillow or my hand to apply pressure if I needed to bend, cough, sneeze, etc. To counter act the pressure. It really helped my comfort a lot not sure if it actually helps the healing process though
