So my 2.5 year old has had diarrhea for over 2 weeks now. I finally was able to get them to do a stool sample and it came back positive salmonella 🤮

They told me just to wait it out and that it was mild, but it’s been 5 days since then and it’s still not better! On top of it, my son‘s daycare is been threatening to give his spot to somebody else because he hasn’t been there in three weeks. I mentioned this to the doctor on our visit and she didn’t seem to be all that bothered by it. I’m furious! My child is sick and needs treatment but it seems like they just want to let him “ride it out”.

I hate to be the mom that googles everything but from what I’ve read salmonella poisoning should resolve within five days, not three weeks! Has anyone else experienced something like this? Am I over reacting and I really do need to just give it more time?
