Job that takes X-rays??

Does anyone have a job where they take X-rays throughout the day? I'm a dental hygienist and take quite a few X-rays throughout the day. I'm 7.5 weeks right now. My employer said I should be fine because I step behind the wall but I feel like a should wear a lead apron. We don't have one the you can wear while standing so we would have to buy one. Anyone else have any experience with this?? We take digital X-rays so the radiation exposure is a lot less but I'm still concerned.
