Please can we stop... (mucus plugs)
With the posts of specks of discharge and asking if it’s your plug.
1. The plug - without any blood - can come away entirely days and even weeks before labour and can FULLY regenerate.
2. You may get lots of discharge in the final days and weeks especially if baby is engaged. It’s completely normal and not typically a sign of anything unless it’s coinciding with bleeding, pain or contractions.
3. A bloody show (mucus and bleeding) can be a sign labour is about to start but can also be triggered by sweeps and cervical exams.
4. Your plug is quite chunky and may fill the palm of your hand. You will know if it’s come away completely.
