Does He Like Me or Am I Delusional

Question

Hi! I know this is a bit of a read but would APPRECIATE any advice! 
WHY I THINK HE LIKES ME
1. Pays for every date. Even expensive ones!
      - I would assume if a guy doesn’t care for a girl he wouldn’t spend his money on her or at least not a lot of money?
2. He keeps inviting me out. 
     - He invites me out to try new restaurants and or go to different events.
3. He’s opened up to me about past trauma
     - he casually mentioned it and talked briefly about it and I also talked about mine too. I would think of a guy didn’t care about a girl or care for her he wouldn’t share something like that?
4. He compliments me.
      - Again, he’s a shy guy but he has complimented me on occasion and tells me how nice I look. I would assume a guy wouldn’t go out his way to do that
5. Positive Future Talk 
When we talk about stuff he always talk in future tense like “we will do this”, “in a few weeks I’ll have you like this”, “you don’t like this but eventually you’ll come around to liking it because you’ll be with me”. 
WHY I THINK HE DOESN’T LIKE ME
1. We don’t text much?? 
    - Since we met June 27th we only go on one date a week and don’t text in between each date. We will like text like maybe once but the conversation never goes tooo long. Unlike during our dates where we plan to hang for 3 hours and I’m there for 7! We text a bit more now but nothing like I am used to it someone is interested. I would think he’d want to know what I am up to or want to learn more about me outside of just our dates. 
2. He doesn’t really flirt?
      - past guys that have been interested in me would flirt often and do cute flirty banter but he doesn’t. He doesn’t try to touch me or do like cute flirty taps on my shoulder. When we first hung out at his place we kind of sat far from me. 
ENow, actually yesterday, he sat closer to me during the movie date we had. ALSO, our other date I touch his hand and held it to demonstrate something and he held my hand back for a moment after the demonstration BUT THATS IT!! I know he mentioned he is a bit hesitant with things because he doesn’t want to make people uncomfortable or doesn’t want to read into things wrong so maybe that’s why?
Y’all I know this is soooo sooo dumb. But y’all I am an anxious mess! I can’t help it haha! I’m 25, and have only been in two relationships! My first ex cheated on me and my second ex was emotionally and mentally abusive....I don’t know how to date 😭 please help. 
All in all I think we mesh sooo well together and he has said that too and even said he feels so comfortable and excited around me. But when I hear that I think he likes me as a friend! I really want to pursue a relationship with him but I’m so nervous to tell him I like him  and he doesn’t feel the same way and then I’m embarrassed or he ghosts me like one guy I met years ago!
Also, I’ve been going out on dates with him since June 27th. He said he wants a relationship but likes to get to know a person and hopes to have a lot in common. I just not know how long is too long to wait for a guy to ask me out if he I genuinely interested....

He just seems like maybe he’s not as socially advanced as you or he moves slower. He’s showing interest, just not in ways you are used to or expect. Some people don’t text or want to hold hands. If he didn’t like you he’d not hang out and make future plans. 
Don’t overthink it. Ask him how he feels about you if you need clarity, but don’t try to mind read you’ll just make yourself super anxious.

I think he’s just shy, he shows interest and honestly you don’t need to text much to have a good relationship, it seems like he want to have more of a face to face instead of just texting all the time. He probably just wants you to feel comfortable and he seems like a good guy who wants to be committed but not rush it and he probably wants to take it slow as well.

I know it’s awkward to have the conversation of where is this going, but I think at this point since June it’s now August almost September, you need to say hey we’ve known each other while now, where is this going, are we just friends, are we more than friends, I know you said in the beginning you wanted a relationship, but is that where we’re heading, my other thought was just go with the flow, and take it one day at a time for however long it may last, and just enjoy it for whatever it is whether you guys are friends, whether you are more than friends, he could like the other person said by socially awkward. Some people aren’t Public display of affection type, some people have different reasons why, perhaps you said those past traumas are reason why he takes the time to get to know someone, why he doesn’t pressure you for anything, why he stays distant to people because he doesn’t want to make them feel uncomfortable, perhaps he’s come on strong in the past and it was taken the wrong way so he’s learn not to, perhaps he doesn’t want to come on too strong and seem clingy and needy, for all you know he can have autism and this is one of the things that he does, it’s difficult to have emotional connection sometimes, and to be able to relate to them and to read their emotions in their body language and things like that, does he call them dates or are you calling them dates does he say hanging out, does he say anything that would say it was actually a date, because proper etiquette dictates that when you invite someone out that you pay for them. We always invite people out and we always pay, that’s proper etiquette, does he say my girl my friend how does he introduce you to people if you meet someone, that’s a big one if they call you my friend then you have your answer if they call you my girl or my girlfriend, then you have your answer but that is the best way to dictate how he views you is how he introduces you. If he just says this is Sallie or this is Sara or whatever her name is, then he hasn’t put that claim on you as to who you are to him. But if you want to have that conversation then have it, where is this going, don’t leave the ball in his court, they look we’ve been hanging out, we’ve been talking we’ve been dating, whatever you wanna call it for a few months now, where do you see this going, unfortunately you’re gonna have to step out of your comfort zone if you want an answer otherwise just go with the flow, play it cool and just take it for what it is one day at a time. Oh it sounds like he does like you, but maybe he just doesn’t have the social savvy and maybe he hasn’t had a lot of experience with dating, or he doesn’t want to scare you off by coming on too strong. Because a lot of times some people don’t have that balance, I once met a guy at a casino, he seems like a nice guy we hung out, I told him I had a 30 minute drive home, I was driving home when I got home there was 20 messages from him asking me why aren’t I answering him, hello, are you there, why aren’t you answering me, I literally told him I had a 30 minute drive home, I ended up blocking him after 3 days, after I had a talk with him, and explain to him why I didn’t answer him, I then asked him not to contact me, he said OK we agreed to everything, the next day again he’s back harassing me. I ended up blocking him. Because some people don’t have that balance, so you need to talk to him if this does turn into a relationship and what your expectations are, tell him that effort and consistency are important to you, that you will match his effort, that you would like to text message a few times during the day, that you would like XYNZ, that you would appreciate XYNZ, you’re not being demanding you’re not being controlling￼￼￼￼ etc. You’re talking about your expectations, you’re talking about your boundaries, you talk about what is acceptable and what is not acceptable behavior, and unfortunately a lot of people don’t realize these things until you have these conversations.
