Am I wrong ?

My boyfriend emotionally cheated on me a few months ago. One of the girls he was talking to (they really just talked friends) started trying to taunt me when she found out about me, saying she’d still talk to him and all this shit. So I told my boyfriend and asked him to tell her off. But he says I need to stop and just block her because saying something won’t do anything except start more problems. I told him it was because I needed reassurance and he said the reassurance should be that we’re still together because if he didn’t want me he wouldn’t be with me.
