Is this a company payroll problem or bank problem?

The company my husband works for can’t seem to keep payroll consistent & I’m curious if this is a company problem or a bank problem.

When he was hired in April they told him payday was every 2 weeks on Thursday. It was like that no problem until after the 4th of July, then it got changed to every 2 weeks on Friday. Then two weeks ago something happened & payroll was late so no one got paid until Saturday. Some didn’t even get paid until that Monday.

Payday is supposed to be today but there’s no pending ACH deposits to our account & the money isn’t there. So my husband called his company to see what was going on. Now they’re saying they only got paid on the 9th & 24th of every month which doesn’t make sense. They never gave notices that payday was changing. They never even gave him an employee handbook.

For example, in May the 9th was on a Sunday but we didn’t actually get paid until that Thursday which was the 13th. Then the 24th was a Monday & we again didn’t have the deposit until that Thursday the 27th. I was always under the impression that payday is the day that money is available in your account. So if payday “has always been on the 9th & 24th” why aren’t we able to access the money or see the ACH deposit transaction ON the 9th & 24th???

We’ve NEVER had this issue with direct deposit with any other job we’ve had or any deposits for that matter. We’ve had this bank account for 4+ years & everything always deposited on the day it was supposed to, not DAYS after.

So is this a company issue or a bank issue?🥴
