Switching OB 34 weeks??

I am looking into switching my OB at 34 weeks pregnant. My current OB/GYN did not discuss anything in regards to birthing up until now (this is my first baby.) She explained she doesn’t deliver babies, nor does she schedule inductions. She has no part in labor, she told me when my water breaks go to the ER, and someone will deliver my daughter. I found it off putting she did not disclose this information at a more reasonable time during my pregnancy, as I could have been made aware sooner and got things in order at a more appropriate time. 
I have found an OB, and the receptionist women scheduled an appointment for me at 35 weeks. The receptionist was openly honest, explaining that the doctor may not even except me as a patient due to my gestational age, however she still set up an appointment to give me a chance. This OB delivers by induction only (I want a scheduled delivery date.) I’m hoping and praying this doctor will accept me, but it’s a toss up at this point. I’m so far along it’s 50/50 if she denies or accepts me. I’m praying she’ll take me in 🤞🏻🤰🏼👩🏿‍⚕️

Everything about this sounds so weird. What doctor tells you they don’t deliver babies? What doctor accepts new patients at 34 weeks? What doctor only does inductions? Lol. Very odd.

Good luck. I hope it works out for you. 
It depends on if the new OB will take you as a patient and if your current OB will release you. At 34 weeks it’s a stretch and will depend on the new OB’s case load, but it’s worth trying! Maybe when you have your appt you can plead with her/him. You may also need your current OB’s permission/release to switch. 
I know in my area some OB’s will refuse to let you switch from them after 25 weeks. I’m in Florida, so I’m not sure if this is just how my area/state operates of if it’s standard.

So the real problem you just made for yourself is that if your ob just released you as a patient, they aren't going to take you back. It's also a very high possibility that the appointment will be a quick and short we don't take new patients this far along unless absolutely needed and you had a doctor.
This is honestly partially on you. You hadn't even brought up birth either. You didn't ask any questions. We asked all of that at our first appointment because it's extremely important to know how things are going to go.

So crazy that no one (you or doctor) discussed the birthing process at all this whole time. We talked about it within the first 2 appointments. I had a list of questions I brought in initially. However, it is not uncommon to not schedule an induction if it is not a medical necessity. My ob wouldn't. I hope you get your new ob.

Worst case scenario maybe hire a midwife they may be more willing to take a new patient Late in pregnancy

How do you drop on someone at 34 weeks that you don’t deliver the babies?  Is it a group practice and she just doesn’t personally or does the office not do delivery?  This is just dumbfounding to me.
