Vacation ?!

Not really parenting related but are any other mommas still planning a vacation for next year? My husband and I booked an all inclusive resort for July 2022 in Jamaica and I’m terrified everything is going to shut down again 😩 we’re vaccinated so I’m not concerned about that, just worried we won’t be able to go. Anyone else? And are you still planning stuff for 2022?

Vaccine does not prevent you from getting covid. 
But I wouldn't plan for anything out of the country unless you have insurance on the package and could get your money back if we did go on lockdown again.

No. I’m not really interested in traveling when there are so many restrictions in place, and I don’t want to contribute to the problem by traveling and potentially spreading the virus if I’m asymptomatic and don’t know it. Better safe than sorry, better kind than selfish.

We are planning on taking a cruise in 2023 if everything looks good by then but won’t be leaving the country or flying anywhere in the meantime.

No, pandemics tends to last 3-5 years so we aren’t planning anything for the foreseeable future. Just saving up to have a really awesome vacation once it gets better. It’d suck to plan something and more shutdowns continue for vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals.

A conference I was suppose to go to in Oct. in Orlando is went from in-person to virtual. I had made plans with my sister who lives down there, so now I’m looking to just go anyways the following weekend for a quick getaway, but still disappointed things are getting cancelled again.

Personally, I’m definitely not planning anything until the world gets their shit together. With us vaccinated folks being able to spread it, none of us are safe until we are all safe. For example, less than 5% of Jamaican folks are fully vaccinated due to gross vaccination disparities.
