What Is Braxton Hicks?

I am 35 weeks pregnant, and I’m not sure what a Braxton hick may be indicative of/ even what it is. I haven’t had any cramps, I’m assuming it would be like a cramp? I haven’t had any pains, either. Would a Braxton hick cause pain, what does it feel like? How do you know when you’re having one?

Mine feel like the cramps you get after running just like a tight feeling on the side or front of the lower abdomen. Some people get them some dont. Its more common towards the end of the pregnancy if you do get them.

A lot of times BH are brought on by dehydration. I got my first ones this past weekend (34 weeks) and they just feel like your belly gets really tight and cramps up. I wouldn’t say they’re painful but they are definitely uncomfortable and made me feel really icky for a while. I know mine were due to not drinking enough water so that could totally account for the sick feeling but once I was hydrated, they went away

With Braxton Hicks, my upper stomach would get hard and I didn't have any pain.

Have you ever had a calve cramp? It feels like that, but not really painful. It's just tightening. 
Braxton Hicks aren't really indicating anything, its just "practice" contractions. But they can happen really early, or not at all. Or close to the end. It's different for everyone.
