When to announce on social media??

Hi everyone! So I’m almost 8 weeks pregnant. We told our close family a couple weeks ago that we are expecting our third. Our boys are 6 & 8 years old and we’ve been trying for this baby for nearly three years so to say we are excited is an understatement! I just did the SneakPeek clinical version and it came back saying we are having a girl! We are over the moon. My question is, is it too early to announce on social media? I know it’s a personal decision but I’m just wondering what other people are doing. I also want to say, on my social media, I consider everyone to be a friend. I just didn’t want to post and have anyone think that we are crazy for announcing so early.. is there a rule for this?

No there’s no rule, I’m tired of people saying “don’t announce early because of this and this” I started announce the day I found out lol, you do what you want! I’m going to announce the day I get my first ultrasound lol. But if you want to, you should! It’s never to early 😜

There’s no rule! I announced every pregnancy around 7/8 weeks and sadly with two of those pregnancies we had to announce we lost them at 18weeks and 14weeks. But that is what it is, no way would I have waited til after 18 weeks to share so that was just something that had to be done. And honestly, sharing my miscarriages openly had so many people wrap their arms around me and comfort me and took down the stigma around it. I would hate to go through a miscarriage alone. We plan to announce this baby as soon as we see/hear the heartbeat at the 9 week ultrasound. If I could have gotten one earlier, I would announce earlier.

I’m due April 9th, and we plan to announce on my birthday which will be September 24th, I’ll be one day shy of 12 weeks. I announced my first at 13 weeks I believe! 💗

We're planning to announce on Halloween, which will be ~14 weeks. We picked it for the holiday though, not for how far along I'd be.

Just a note that Facebook does do a ‘on this day’ memory so should things not work out after you’ve announced it you will have an annual reminder of your announcement. It’s hard after a loss to still be getting the targeted Facebook ads and emails from baby clubs you’ve signed up to.

I announced my daughter at 14 weeks, my son at 10 (only because we were in Paris and took a picture of my daughter holding a onsie in front of the Efile Tower). I actually thinking of waiting to put this one on our Christmas card.  We’ll see.

There’s no rule. Do it when you feel it is right and comfortable. We personally don’t announce until after the 20 week ultrasound as we’ve had two second trimester losses.

We told close family after our first US at 6.5w bc of multiple prior losses we just didn't want to put everyone thru that again. We are telling friends and extended family on my bday at 13 weeks. Mostly bc my BIL is getting married the weekend I'm 12 weeks and we don't want to take any moments away from their special day. Decided to wait til my bday the following week to tell the extended family ♥️ can't wait for it! The social media post will be a few weeks after when we do a sex reveal.

With my first I announced at 15 weeks but this time around where thinking around the same time but I’m second daughting it and think maybe until even 24 weeks

I would say do what you want! I personally announced at 13 weeks, 12 weeks and my last baby I didn’t announce until 20 weeks
